Mentor Coaching is a powerful way to further develop and hone your coaching skills and competency. Mentor coaching, like general coaching, moves individuals forward toward their personal and professional goals. Mentor coaches generally provide coaching in the following areas:

Practice Development

  • Incorporation of coaching/coaching methods into current setting

Professional Development

  • Feedback on your coaching skills
  • Improve/enhance your coaching competence

Personal Development

  • Strengthen Personal Foundation
  • Be coached yourself

Individual Mentor-Coaching:

Includes:

  • Two 45 minute individual mentor-coaching sessions per month
  • Investments: 7 monthly payments of $400 each

Group Mentor-Coaching:

Includes:

8 weeks of group mentor-coaching

    • Limited to 8 participants
    • Everyone coaches once
    • Each group mentor-coaching session is 55 minutes in length
    • During the 7 sessions when you are not coaching, you benefit by listening to others coach, hear the feedback they receive from the mentor-coach, offer feedback to the coach and ask questions.
    • You can miss up to 2 group sessions and still get credit

4 individual mentor-coaching sessions

    • These individual mentor-coaching sessions are scheduled with an approved Coaching4Clergy mentor-coach of your choice.
    • Each individual mentor-coaching session is 45 minutes in length

Val brings a rich diversity and depth to his coaching and coach training. This richness includes 20+ years as an ordained United Methodist Pastor. Val also has extensive training and expertise in Change and Transition Management. In addition, Val has coached more than 3,500 pastors, denominational leaders and church leaders.

Trigena H. Halley, PCC is the founder and owner of Peak Performance CCT, LLC (www.peakperformancecct.com).  During her professional career, Trigena has held various leadership positions in the global corporate arena with a focus on talent development, strategy execution, achievement of financial goals and client satisfaction.

Today Trigena works with individuals and organizations seeking to enhance, improve and sustain peak performance through a result-focused approach. She specializes in leadership, conflict and team coaching, performance improvement, development of leaders and working with organizations to employ a sustainable coaching culture.   Her experience spans service, non-profit, corporate as well as faith-based and educational organizations. Trigena also offers several individual and organizational assessments, a few include the Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), MHS EQi assessment (Emotional Intelligence), Professional Coaching Styles Indicator (PCSI), and PRISM 360 Assessment.

As a mentor coach, Trigena supports business and ministry leaders working toward ICF certification.  She works with coaches, consultants and trainers who have or are starting their own business to support their success both initially and long-term.

Trigena volunteers both within her community and her local church, her ministry focus is with an organization called Holding Out HELP (www.holdingouthelp.org), which supports individuals and families leaving a polygamist lifestyle and transitioning into mainstream society.  Trigena has a Master of Arts in Communication Consultancy and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing both from Oklahoma State University.

In 1999 Trigena moved to Sandy, Utah where she spends four seasons a year outdoors – skiing, hiking, running, and canyoneering slot canyons. Passionate for the great outdoors Trigena leads outdoor retreats, she believes nature itself is the ideal palate for change.

She continues to enjoy exploring the great state of Utah and other exciting destinations with her husband, two children and friends.


Larry Ousley, PCC
Dr. Larry Ousley is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC), a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) certified by the International Coach Federation (ICF), and a founding member of Sacred Fire Coaching.  Larry has advanced training in Organization & Relationship Systems Coaching (ORSC) and as of October 2009, he is one of 90 Certified ORSC coaches in the world.  Also, Larry has specialized training in group coaching.  He is an ordained Elder in the Holston Conference in the United Methodist Church (UMC) and is one of twelve persons endorsed as a life coach by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry of the UMC.  Recently, he was trained by GBOD as a Path1 coach for church planters.  Additionally, Larry has 39 years experience as a coach, consultant, seminar leader and United Methodist minister.  He brings to his work his life experiences, including pastoral care and spiritual formation, coaching, his own spiritual journey, and a passion for persons living “fully alive” as effective and fulfilled leaders.

Presently Larry serves as the Executive Director of the Intentional Growth Center (IGC) at Lake Junaluska, NC. Before coming to IGC ten years ago, Larry served as senior pastor of several large churches and on the conference staff in the Holston Conference of the UMC.

Jim Robey, PCC
Dr. Jim Robey, an Elder in the North Alabama Conference, was the first clergy in the UMC to be officially endorsed for the Ministry of Life Coaching.  He is appointed to extension ministry as the Executive Director of ATTENTIONAL GROWTH INC, a non-profit organization which he founded. Jim is a renowned speaker, seminar leader, teacher and coach with a profound commitment to help others grow in their ministry and connection to God. He earned his Doctor of Ministry degree from Emory University and is a graduate of the Co-Active Leadership Program of the Coaches Training Institute.

Jim brings a passion for helping people become more of who they are called by God to be. Included in his coaching is his humor, life experiences, 39 years serving churches, love for God and the church, and a profound commitment to partnering with others in their own ministry.  Dr. Robey coaches ministers, District Superintendents, Directors of Connectional Ministry and others who are motivated to grow in life and ministry.  He is also a Mentor Coach for the UMC’s Path 1 program for new church start pastors, and is coaching a pastor in Montana.   His clients are from the USA, Canada and Europe.  Jim and his wife Betty live in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Cornelia Shipley, PCC
An executive coach and strategy consultant  with nearly 20 years experience in corporate America, Cornelia Shipley began her career in Sales and Sales Training and Development with The Procter & Gamble Company.  While at P&G, she developed key management and strategic planning skills she uses with clients today.  After receiving her MBA in Management Consulting and Strategy, Ms. Shipley made a career change and worked as a Human Resource Professional for both Raytheon Company and General Mills supporting Supply Chain, Corporate Engineering, and Corporate HR.

Professionally Certified (PCC) as a coach through the International Coach Federation (ICF), Ms. Shipley has been in private practice since 2006.  Clients value her holistic approach to leadership development and strategic planning.  Her practice is focused on assisting senior executives and entrepreneurs to develop and leverage their personal brand, influence strategy, and strategic plan to create their designed outcomes.  In addition, Ms. Shipley is a mentor coach for the Clergy Coach Training Program at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary and works with Clergy and Congregations across the US.
