Course Requirements:
- Core-Training and Practice lab (40 hours)
- Asynchronous/Self-Paced Recorded Webinars
- 102: Common Coaching Scenarios in Ministry (4 hours)
- Elective Classes (8 hours)
- Group Mentor coaching (8 hours)
- Individual Mentor Coaching (3 hours)

General Program Information:
- Your primary instructor for your core training will be Val. Your elective classes and one additional core class will be taught by one of Coaching4Clergy’s faculty members. .
- Your primary instructor for Group Mentor-Coaching will be Val. Your three individual mentor-coaching sessions will be facilitated by Val and select Endorsed United Methodist Coaches (PCC or MCC)
- Your coach training curriculum includes:
- Three textbooks (These will be mailed to you after you register.)
- The Professional Coach Training Textbook: Coaching4Clergy
- Change Your Questions, Change Your Church
- Ministry 3.0
- Five coaching audios (The link for these will be emailed to you after you register.)
- And various Ebooks. (These will be placed in our learning portal.)
- Three textbooks (These will be mailed to you after you register.)
- Coaching4Clergy utilizes a Learning Portal called EDU2.0. We also use a learning platform called WebEx. You will receive additional information about these resources once you have registered.
- Please note that you are allowed to miss up to 20% of class time, and classes are recorded for you to view on missed days.
Asynchronous/Self-Paced Recorded Webinars:
There are two recorded webinar courses to be completed at each student’s convenience. Successful completion includes a two page reaction paper on each course. You will find these in our Learning Portal.
- 100: An Overview of the Core Coaching Competencies
- 202: Creating New Awareness
102: Common Coaching Scenarios:
This is a core class which is offered separately from the Core Coach Training.
- This class is offered one hour a week for four weeks
Elective Courses:
Each participant is required to complete two electives.
- Students select two elective classes from a list of eight elective offerings.
- Elective classes are offered at various times and dates.
- Elective classes include students from various Coaching4Clergy offerings.
Group Mentor-Coaching:
There are two options. After you register, you will select your mentor-coaching group.
- Includes 8 hours of group mentor-coaching, 2 hours a day twice a week.
Individual Mentor-Coaching:
The requirement is 3 hours of individual mentor-coaching.
- The United Methodist Endorsing Agency (UMEA) is going to provide mentor coaches and the compensation for them directly. This figure is included in the scholarship for each person from GBHEM.
- You will schedule your individual mentor-coaching session with your individual mentor-coach.
