Have you heard the parable of the woodpecker?

May 13, 2014 By //  by J. Val Hastings

Simply put…..the woodpecker could peck 20 times on a thousand different trees and say, “I’ve just pecked 20,000 times.  I’ve been real busy.”

But, that’s not the way of the woodpecker, who pecks 20,000 times at the same tree and then says, “I’m making a difference.”

This is a great parable for all in leadership.   It really highlights the importance of being strategic and selective about how we use our time and energy.  It also reminds us of the importance of doing a few things well versus being busy doing a lot of things.

It’s really our choice.  We can be busy, or we can make a difference.

All the best to you,
