Take Smaller Steps!

May 19, 2016 By //  by J. Val Hastings

The genius behind the Baby Step Strategy.baby-steps

The bulk of the leaders that I work with are stuck.  They are stuck, not because they don’t have a vision.  The majority are clear about their overall goal.  They are stuck because they are overwhelmed with the enormity of their vision.

In other words, the gap between where they are and where they want to be seems huge.  Many are searching for a quantum leap to bridge the gap.

My suggestion is to set aside the search for the quantum leap, at least for now.  Instead, take smaller steps – Baby Steps. Break down your project into the smallest of steps.  The genius behind Baby Steps is that it gets you moving and movement builds confidence.

A 1970’s slogan that promotes the Baby Step Strategy is:  “Inch by inch, it’s a cinch.”

This week, decide to take smaller steps.

All the best to you,
