What is one simple thing you could do to move forward?

January 19, 2016 By //  by J. Val Hastings

This month we’ve been looking at how to begin the year with less. Last week I suggested that we become experts at saying “No.” Today I’d like to offer you a question. It’s one of the questions that I frequently ask – in fact it might be the number one question I use in my coaching of leaders.

The question is this: What is one simple thing you could do to move forward?

What’s great about this question is that is that it usually leads to a breakthrough. Many of today’s leaders make things more complicated that they need to be. The end result is that we overwhelm ourselves, as well as those we lead.

The brilliance of this question is that it takes our top ten list and boils it down to the top priority. It identifies the one thing that will make the biggest difference.

What is your “one simple thing”?

All the best to you,
