John has over 25 years of experience as an organization/leadership development consultant and coach engaging learners, increasing their competence at mission execution and creating sustainable results. He has worked with federal agencies including the Defense Department, US Office of Personnel Management, Treasury Department, Environmental Protection Agency, and the Department of Transportation. Additionally, he has worked with private sector companies including The Home Depot, Frito-Lay, Merck, Qwest, and Proctor & Gamble.

John spent the first 13 years of his career in healthcare and human services in nonprofit and profit organizations. He has held executive positions with P&L accountability for over $3.5M and span of control over geographically dispersed operations with 120+ staff. John’s leadership successes have armed him with real-world business experience keeping him focused on organization development interventions that are results-oriented, mission-critical, and fully engaging.

John has a Ph.D. in psychology, an MS in Counseling, an MBA, and a BS in Christian Education. He is a Board Certified Coach, Master Certified Coach, Certified Paralegal, Certified Mediator, licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, National Board Certified Counselor and Certified Addictions Specialist. He is the co-author of Leading Forward-Successful public leadership amidst complexity, chaos and change, published by Jossey-Bass (2014).
